HVAC Service Manager

Overview
The HVAC Service Manager is responsible for the management, facilitation, administration and
growth of the HVAC service team. The service team provides services consisting of, but not limited
to, preventative maintenance and repair or replacement of HVAC temperature control
components, boilers, chillers, air handling units along with piping and sheet metal repairs. These
services are provided to our customers on both a planned and 24/7/365 emergency basis.

mechanical and control system problems: from minor repairs to the installation and maintenance
of the industry’s most sophisticated equipment and temperature control systems.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
o Work with the Service Coordinator to identify, organize and coordinate all HVAC services
including scheduling, workload management, and prioritizing of manpower and materials
as required to meet established deadlines.
o Provide support for field service technicians.
o Check and approve work orders, write presentable descriptions, and submit them to the
invoicing department.
o Work with the Service Coordinator to provide updated proposals for Preventative
Maintenance Agreement (PMA) renewals.
o Ensure the scope of the PMA matches the customer’s needs/request and aligns
with the equipment that they have onsite.
o Meet with customers as needed to review proposals.
o Work with customers and technicians to schedule and fulfill PMA service responsibilities.
o Review PMA work orders and completion documentation.
o Approve timesheets for the service team.
o Answer phones, take service calls and dispatch technicians (backup to the Service
Coordinator).
o Manage the training effort for the service department.
o Mentor and provide opportunities for mentorship to happen organically among team
members.
o Approves and manages the on-call schedule and vacation schedule for service staff.
o Estimate and provide proposals for small service projects.
o Product research and technical information to aid technicians.
o Ensure customer loyalty and high customer satisfaction/retention ratings.

Skills & Qualifications
o Excellent oral and written communication skills.
o Self-motivated, organized, and results driven professional.
o Driven by a desire to provide a high level of customer service.
o Computer literate with proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel,
Outlook, Power Point).
o Able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
o Must be punctual with follow-up to fulfill commitments to both internal and external
customers.
o Must have a valid driver’s license.
o Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
o Commercial HVAC experience.
